Psychology Not Phycology
Recently, I had the pleasure of joining Miss Shannan and Jatin Satia for a lively conversation that tackled a question I never expected to answer: Am I a fan of psychology, the study of the mind, or phycology, the study of algae? If you’re scratching your head, you’re not alone! While the mix-up gave us all a good laugh, it also sparked a deeper conversation about my true passions. I won’t spoil the fun, let’s just say their guess was only half right.
But beyond the humor, the discussion turned to something much closer to my heart, my journey in launching Vuma TV, an international streaming service with a mission to bring global stories to life. Building Vuma TV has been a labor of love, inspired by my belief that storytelling is one of the most powerful tools we have to connect across cultures, break down barriers, and celebrate the beauty of our diversity.
During the episode, I shared some of the challenges and triumphs behind the scenes, from shaping a platform that uplifts underrepresented voices to ensuring that audiences from every corner of the world feel seen, heard, and celebrated. For me, Vuma TV isn’t just a streaming service, it’s a movement, one that amplifies stories grounded in truth and creates meaningful conversations across borders.
If you’re curious to know more about the conversation (and whether I lean more toward the human psyche or sea algae), check out the episode.
